FormForge
Automotive-scale 3D printing, done right.
Manufacturing, Reshaped
The FormForge Vision
Today's designers dream big, but manufacturing is falling behind. Existing 3D printing methods use 2D layers that can fail under gravity, leaving many of our best ideas stuck in the cloud.
Our Free Form Additive technology combines the speed of automotive-scale 3D printing with the power and flexibility of industrial robotic arms. Our system follows the part geometry, unlocking impossible designs.
To accomplish this, FormForge has developed a proprietary plastic extruder and advanced algorithms, giving us a competitive edge in both hardware and software.
FormForge is reshaping manufacturing, and helping to make today's designs into tomorrow's reality.
Who We Are
Founder & CEO
Nathan Fuller
Nathan is a mechanical engineering student at Oregon State. He is passionate about creating new technology and enabling others to create. It is this passion that has lead him to additive manufacturing. Over the last 5 years, Nathan has worked on multiple additive projects, some as an intern at Autodesk and others as startup ventures working with Andy Baldwin.
Nathan has been involved in the entrepreneurship space for four years as the CEO of multiple ventures. With experience in public speaking and project management, Nathan works to keep the team focused on a single cohesive vision.
When not working on generating new additive technology Nathan spends his time woodworking and doing hobby electronics projects.
Founder & CTO
Andy Baldwin
A double-degree student in math and physics, Andy is passionate about understanding complex systems and solving tricky problems. He is a self-taught programmer who began learning Java in sixth grade, and is now fluent in six programming languages. Andy's computer science interests are primarily in the fields of algorithm development, geometric topology, and data validation.
As a student at Oregon State University, Andy has worked with co-founder Nathan Fuller for nearly four years on a series of tech startups, focused on data collection, electromechanical systems, and additive manufacturing.
Outside of professional life, Andy spends his time hiking, geocaching, watching movies, and gaming.
Mechanical Engineer
Morgan Pengelly
Morgan is a mechanical engineering student at Oregon State University with an interest is system automation and additive manufacturing. Before college he was the lead builder of his competitive robotics team for nine years, helping to win a world championship in a field of 9000 teams.
At Oregon State University, Morgan was a research assistant in the Dynamics Robotics Laboratory for two years where he maintained the ATRIAS robot and rewrote the assembly and upkeep documentation. In addition to his robotics background, he has also worked in the semiconductor industry, interning at two companies, Siltronic and Cascade Microtech. During this time, he also consulted with the co-founders team on the design of a hybrid 3D printer.
Outside his technical interests, Morgan enjoys backpacking, rock climbing, and mountain biking.
Mechanical Engineer
Max Tag
Max is a student at Oregon State University studying mechanical engineering and art. He has been driven by the creation of new things since his early youth; moving from playmobil and Legos all the way to gallery exhibitions and designing large-format additive manufacturing systems.
Outside of the creative domain, he enjoys traveling (even working as the advisor to all undergraduate engineering students pursuing study abroad) and all manner of “fresh air” activities including: skiing, soccer, rock climbing, scuba diving, back-packing, running, hiking and even meditating.
